Claude for Authors is a Skool community for fiction writers who want to draft books with Anthropic’s Claude. On 31 October 2026 it charged $37 once for lifetime access to 4 courses and 10 modules, with 945 members inside. The owner is Jason Hamilton, who also runs the larger Story Hacker AI community, and the page warns the price will soon become $37 a month.

We have not joined Claude for Authors, and we have paid nothing to it or to its owner. This review is built from the community’s public About page, Skool’s own member review record and the owner’s public profile, all captured on 31 October 2026. When we repeat a line from the sales copy, we label it as the seller’s claim. If you join through our links, we earn Skool’s affiliate commission, which this community sets at 50%.

Should You Join Claude for Authors?

Join if you write fiction, already use or want to use Claude, and $37 is a small bet for you. One payment, no subscription, and a founder whose public work you can check first. That combination is rare on Skool, where most paid communities bill monthly.

Skip it if you need other members to vouch for a course before you buy. Skool shows no rating and no reviews for this community at capture. Skip it too if you want a large library. Ten modules is short, and the owner’s other community holds far more.

What we liked: the price. A fiction writer can test Hamilton’s whole method for less than one month of most AI communities we have reviewed.

What we did not like: the proof gap. The sales copy leans on the owner’s record elsewhere, while this room has no reviews of its own and a quiet feed.

Best for:

  • Fiction authors who want a Claude-based drafting method
  • Writers who already follow Hamilton’s channel and want his system in one place
  • Buyers who hate subscriptions and want to pay once

Skip if:

  • You want member reviews before paying
  • You need a deep course library or daily feed activity
  • You write nonfiction, since the description targets fiction authors and publishers

The current price and offer sit on the Claude for Authors listing.

What Is Inside Claude for Authors?

Claude for Authors is a paid Skool community with a course library and a member feed. It teaches fiction writers to plan and draft books with Claude while the author keeps control of the story. The library of Claude for Authors holds 4 courses split into 10 modules, according to Skool’s counters on 31 October 2026.

That is 2.5 modules per course. The sales copy lists what the $37 buys:

  • A behind-the-scenes demo of a book-in-a-month, human-led AI writing system
  • A Claude Code install guide, pitched as setting up “your first AI employee”
  • The 8 Pillars of Storytelling, described as a complete system for telling good stories
  • The 6 Key Writing Steps, described as a complete system for writing a book with human-led AI

Four named items across four courses suggests each course is one of those items. The page does not map them, so treat that match as our reading.

Claude for Authors at a glance: 945 members, $37 one-time, 3 admins, 4 courses, 10 modules and 156 posts on 31 October 2026

The Claude Code module is the unusual part

Most AI writing communities teach chat prompts. Claude Code is Anthropic’s command-line coding agent, and it is an odd fit for novelists on first look. Hamilton’s pitch is that it acts as an employee that runs tasks for you. The page does not say which writing tasks it handles. If you have never opened a terminal, expect a learning curve, because the page does not promise a no-code path.

The live workshop

At capture, the About page opened with a banner for a new workshop “this Thursday” on planning a book series with Claude. The page gives no calendar date and no schedule for later sessions. It shows live sessions happen. It does not promise a fixed weekly call.

The Feed: 156 Posts From 945 Members

The feed is the weakest number on the listing. Skool counted 156 posts across 945 members on 31 October 2026, about 1 post for every 6 members. Twenty-six members were online at capture, 2.75% of the roster.

Three admins serve the community, about 315 members per admin. The About page names only Jason Hamilton, so we cannot say who the other two are.

For a $37 course library, a quiet feed matters less. Many buyers want the method and nothing else. Do not count on peer critique of your chapters, though. That kind of feedback needs a busy writing room, and the counters show this one is still small.

Who Is Jason Hamilton?

Jason Hamilton is the owner of Claude for Authors and the person whose writing system the courses teach. His public Skool profile links to two outside properties: the website storytellingdb.com and the YouTube channel The Nerdy Novelist. His Skool account dates to 29 July 2024, about 27 months before our capture.

His bio reads: “Son of God. Husband. Father. Entrepreneur. Author. YouTuber. In that order.” The location field is blank.

Public links matter here. Most owners in this space ask you to trust a bio line. Hamilton gives you a channel and a website to check before you spend anything.

He also runs Story Hacker AI, a separate paid community for AI-assisted fiction. We covered it in our Story Hacker AI review, and the two rooms are compared in the pricing section below.

The Sales Page Claims, Checked Against Skool

The About page makes five claims about the owner. Skool’s data can check one of them. The rest are the seller’s claims, and we mark them that way.

Claim on the About pageWhat the listing shows on 31 October 2026
Built the largest YouTube channel on AI for creative writing (92K subs)Channel link is public; subscriber count not verified by us
Former content manager at KindlepreneurNo link or document on the page
Wrote 14 books before AINo titles listed on the page
1800+ authors helpedClaude for Authors holds 945 members
Ranked #6 in top Skool tech communitiesNo source, list name or date given

The “1800+ authors” line is the one to read closely. This community holds 945 members, about half that figure. Story Hacker AI held 1,850 members on our 9 September 2026 capture, so the number may count both rooms, or other work. The page does not say which.

The ranking claim has the same problem. “#6” with no list name or date cannot be checked. Skool ranks change daily, and a claim with no date may describe an older position.

The claims may all be true. The case for Claude for Authors rests on Hamilton’s outside record, which you can check on his channel, more than on anything inside this community.

What Does Claude for Authors Cost?

Claude for Authors costs $37 in US dollars as a one-time payment. The join button read “JOIN $37” on 31 October 2026, and Skool’s price record listed the interval as one-time. The sales copy calls this lifetime access and warns the price will flip to $37 per month soon. No date is given for the change.

Scenario1 month6 months12 months
Lifetime price, paid at capture$37$37$37
If the $37 monthly price applies$37$222$444

The gap between those rows is the whole pitch. Buy at the lifetime price and year one costs $37. Buy after the switch and year one costs $444, twelve times more.

Two gaps sit in the offer. The page does not say whether lifetime buyers keep full access after the switch, including new courses. It also states no refund terms and no free trial. At $37 the risk is small, but it is a final payment as far as the page tells you.

Per module, $37 buys 10 modules at $3.70 each, once. That figure only holds while the price stays one-time.

Claude for Authors vs Story Hacker AI

Claude for Authors and Story Hacker AI are both Jason Hamilton’s AI fiction communities, and the gap between them is large. The figures below come from each community’s own Skool About page on the date we captured it, so they are not from the same day.

Story Hacker AI has 76 times the modules and close to 100 times the feed posts. It also carries 72 reviews from paying members, which Claude for Authors lacks.

Claude for Authors is the cheap way in. For $37 you get Hamilton’s core storytelling and writing-step systems plus the Claude Code setup, without a $67 monthly bill. If those 10 modules click, you know whether the bigger library is worth $804 a year before you commit to it.

If you already pay for Story Hacker AI, check what overlaps before buying. The page does not say whether the 8 Pillars or the 6 Key Writing Steps also appear in the larger library.

Zero Reviews, And What That Means

Skool returned no rating and no review count for Claude for Authors on 31 October 2026. Zero of 945 members have left a review on the record. Skool lets only paying members review a paid community, so the empty record means no paying member has rated it yet.

A missing record has two plain explanations. The community may be new enough that few members have finished the courses. Or the owner has not asked members to review yet. Skool’s data does not show which, and the page does not give a launch date.

Claude for Authors evidence: no Skool rating, 0 of 945 members reviewed, affiliate rate 50%

The 50% affiliate rate is worth weighing too. Half of every $37 sale goes to whoever referred the buyer, ourselves included. Expect plenty of glowing coverage and read it with that in mind.

Our Verdict on Claude for Authors

Claude for Authors is a fair $37 test of Jason Hamilton’s fiction method, and a thin community by every Skool counter. The price is the strongest point: one payment, lifetime access at capture, and a founder with public work to check. The weak points are the 10-module library, a feed of 156 posts, zero member reviews and an owner claim of 1800+ authors that this room does not support on its own.

If you write fiction and want a Claude workflow, buy while the price is one-time, and ask the owner in writing what happens to lifetime access after the switch. If you want depth, a busy room and a review record, the larger community covers that at a higher monthly price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Claude for Authors on Skool worth it?
Claude for Authors is worth $37 if you write fiction and want Jason Hamilton's Claude workflow at a one-time price. On 31 October 2026 that price bought lifetime access to 4 courses and 10 modules. The weak point is proof: Skool shows zero member reviews, so the teaching has no rating on the record yet.
How much does Claude for Authors cost?
The join button read JOIN $37 on 31 October 2026, and Skool's price record listed it as a one-time payment in US dollars. The sales copy calls it lifetime access and warns that the price flips to $37 per month soon. It gives no date for the change, so the lifetime price could end at any time.
What happens to lifetime access if the price turns monthly?
The About page does not say. It promises lifetime access for the $37 payment and warns the price will become $37 per month, but it does not state whether early buyers keep their access without a monthly charge. Ask the owner in writing before you pay if that matters to you.
Can I get a refund from Claude for Authors?
No refund terms appear on the About page captured on 31 October 2026. There is no money-back guarantee and no free trial mentioned. Treat the $37 as a final payment unless the owner confirms a refund policy before you join.
Who runs Claude for Authors?
Jason Hamilton owns Claude for Authors. His Skool profile lists the website storytellingdb.com and the YouTube channel @thenerdynovelist, and his Skool account dates to 29 July 2024. He also runs Story Hacker AI, a larger paid Skool community for AI-assisted fiction writing.
What is inside Claude for Authors?
Skool counts 4 courses and 10 modules. The sales copy names four items: a demo of a book-in-a-month writing system, a Claude Code install guide, the 8 Pillars of Storytelling and the 6 Key Writing Steps. At capture the page also promoted a live workshop on planning a book series with Claude.
How long before Claude for Authors helps me finish a book?
No timeline is published, and no member review reports a result. The sales copy demos a book-in-a-month system, which is the seller's own framing of pace. With 10 modules in total, the library is short enough to work through in a few sittings before you test it on a real draft.
Is Claude for Authors the same as Story Hacker AI?
No. Both belong to Jason Hamilton, but they are separate Skool communities with separate prices. Claude for Authors charged $37 once on 31 October 2026 for 10 modules. Story Hacker AI charged $67 a month on 9 September 2026 for 17 courses and 759 modules, with 72 member reviews at 5.0.
